One of our favorite places to walk in Auburn, this nature preserve is located on the north side of town, just past the University fisheries. The area is great for kids, featuring a learning center and a play area. The trails take you through a variety of landscapes and terrains, including creeks and ponds. If you're an avid birder, this is one of the best places in Auburn to spot rare species during migration seasons.

For history buffs, the Museum of East Alabama, located in the downtown Opelika historic district, houses over 5,000 artifacts within the old Clement Hotel. The museum first opened its doors in August 1989.
