One of our favorite places to walk in Auburn, this nature preserve is located on the north side of town, just past the University fisheries. The area is great for kids, featuring a learning center and a play area. The trails take you through a variety of landscapes and terrains, including creeks and ponds. If you're an avid birder, this is one of the best places in Auburn to spot rare species during migration seasons.
If time permits, consider fitting in a morning nine or full 18. The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Grand National is situated on 600-acre Lake Saughatchee, with 32 of its 54 holes lining the lake’s shores. It features three 18-hole courses: the Lake Course, the Links Course, and the Short Course.
Located near the Opelika Sports Complex, the Tumble Tree Disc Golf Course is an 18-hole course that crosses bodies of water, navigates inclines and hills, and follows trails through the woods. If you enjoy disc golf, this course is a must-visit.
