Brent and Hannah met in 2009 when she was a host and he was a server at the same restaurant. They were just friends at first and would say "Hi" to each other as they worked. When Brent needed to get change for a guest, he would only wait until Hannah was available to make change for him, if he couldn't wait he was slightly upset. At one point Brent had asked Hannah out after work for a cocktail and Hannah replied, "Thanks, but no thanks". Fairly, Brent respected and waited until after she turned 21 to ask her again and she agreed. Afterwards, they spent so much time together, getting to know each other and pretty much becoming inseparable. They felt so comfortable around each other and truly appreciated each others company (as well as their senses of humor)! The two have been together ever since!
It was Hannah's last year at UMASS Lowell while she was completing her Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology and Brent was planning to pop the question. He had planned to have Hannah come up to Ogunquit, Maine for Thanksgiving with his family and Hannah almost didn't go. She explained to Brent she was too stressed out with the amount of work that was due following the holiday and that she would just drive back home after dinner, but, Brent and her family had convinced her to spend the night in Maine. Reluctantly, Hannah packed an overnight bag and Brent had sped off to Maine to meet his family. Hannah arrived in Maine and was getting settled, saying hello to Brent's family and mingling. It was then that Brent's mother had asked her and Brent to walk over to the old Footbridge and hang a pair of wreaths over the bridge. Thinking nothing of it they walked over to the bridge and hung them up. Brent then told Hannah on the bridge, "I love you and we have a lot to be thankful for this year," to which Hannah replied "Awe, you're so cute are you proposing?" Brent quickly replied, "No just let me get this out!" She stopped to listen and Brent went on, "We have a lot to be thankful for, and I want you to know how proud I am of you, I love you... and yes, I am proposing." Brent dropped onto one knee and pulled out a diamond ring and asked Hannah to marry him. She said, "Oh my God, yes!"
