Our Story

Bradley's Perspective

Our story begins in mid-August of 2020. I had just moved 6 hours west to attend college in Fredonia, and I had also started attending church at First Baptist of Dunkirk. During my second Sunday there, I was introduced to two Arkansans who had just moved up two weeks prior, one of whom was Hannah, whose thick, curly hair immediately struck me on first sight. After a bit, Hannah started to give me rides to church and other places around town, and from there, our friendship began. We would go bowling, go out to lunch on Sunday afternoons, do "study sessions" at Starbucks, and talk in the car for hours on end. It was during this time that we realized just how much we had in common, and I started developing feelings for her. Soon winter break hit, which incidentally started with being stuck at home in quarantine after Hannah tested positive for Covid. During quarantine and through the rest of the break, my feelings for her continued to grow as we kept talking and texting each other. I finally decided at this point that I wanted to ask her to be my girlfriend, and when I got back to school, I did just that on Valentine's Day 2021. The months following provided some of the most wonderful moments together. We did lots of movie nights, went on lots of dates, hiked a good amount, and took a few road trips along the way. These moments were filled with tons of joy, happiness, love, laughter, and excitement, and through these moments, we continued to grow closer and closer to one another (which made long school breaks away from each other especially hard). It quickly became clear in our relationship that we both wanted to be together for the long haul, and through God's perfect timing and provision, we were provided a way to do so. So as 2022 came around, I was given the opportunity to come back to Fredonia early during my winter break, and in doing so, I was able to finally ask Hannah to marry me! I am so excited to be marrying my best friend in only a few months!

Our Story

Hannah's Perspective

Bradley and I met in the summer of 2020, even though there was no reason for our paths to collide. I had just moved 14 hours away from my home in Arkansas to a little town called Fredonia. Bradley lived 6 hours away in Bloomington, but came to SUNY Fredonia to finish his bachelor's. We met at church that August, and it didn't take long for us to become friends. I'd give him rides around the area, and we started finding other ways to spend time with one another throughout the week. We'd study together or we'd have lunch after church, we'd go bowling, take late night trips to Walmart, and we'd spend hours talking to each other just so we wouldn't have to say goodnight. As we spent more time together, I realized how much we had in common and how much I loved every second I was with him. I only knew Bradley for a few months, but it felt like I'd known him my whole life. I had a feeling he felt the same way, but we were both too scared to say anything. Bradley went home for winter break, and our friendship grew as we talked and texted. I was anxious for him to get back and see if we would start dating, and sure enough, when he came for his spring semester, he officially asked me to be his girlfriend on Valentine's Day! Throughout this last year, we've made so many amazing memories together, my favorite being the night we said "I love you." I dropped Bradley off at his dorm, and as he was getting out I said, "Adios!" and he said "I love you too!" We had a pretty good laugh, and of course I told him that I loved him as well. We enjoy hiking, movie nights, dinner dates, spontaneous road trips, and cuddling. I quickly knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. He had been teasing me for the last few months, but officially sealed the deal and asked me to marry him! My love for Bradley is more than I could've ever imagined, and it only continues to grow! We are amazed by God's sovereignty and His perfect timing, and we are so excited to further His kingdom together!
