Food Halls
Denver is well known for its food halls with local restaurants and food trucks all sharing a curated space. Great if you're eating out with family or friends and not everyone wants the same thing! Avanti (Highlands), Edgewater Marketplace (Sloan's Lake), Golden Mill (Golden) and Denver Central Market (RiNo) are just some we love.
RiNo Art District
Great food and drink spots in here, along with galleries and shops. We love Stowaway Kitchen for breakfast, Blue Sparrow for coffee, Death & Co for cocktails, and Denver Central Market for all the above. Would highly recommend wandering through this art district observing the famous graffiti (or even take a graffiti walking tour) and stop into one of the endless microbreweries for a beer or kombucha.
Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre
A quintessential Colorado visit! If you haven't seen this beautiful amphitheater and the surrounding grounds before, it's worth a stop in or short hike around.
The Wild Animal Sanctuary
Instead of the Denver Zoo, we encourage you to visit this incredible sanctuary just outside of Denver with a 1.5 miles elevated walkway giving you the opportunity to see the rescued animals in their open habitats. This serene setting is where rehabilitated tigers, wolves, bears and prides of African lions get to roam freely after having been rescued from dire situations.
Colorado School of Mines
Walk through the beautiful campus of Colorado School of Mines in Golden to see where Austin heads the Outdoor Recreation department.
