Arran and I met through a teacher friend of mine. Her husband knew Arran through playing golf and thought we would be a great match. We all went out for a double date to ice cream and a movie. After the movie, Arran walked me to my car and we talked for a good while. When I left, I knew Arran was something very special and prayed that I would at least have the chance to go on more one date with him. Unbeknownst to me our movie date was just the start of our story.
Arran tried to be very sneaky about proposing in order to catch me off guard. The weekend of the proposal, Arran dog sat for a friend in Greenville. Arran and I did not go to Greenville often, so dog sitting was the perfect disguise for inviting me up to visit him. After working that Saturday morning (and picking up the ring from his house), Arran and I took a day trip to his Alma Mater at Anderson University. He showed me around the campus and took me to the places he loved the most when attending Anderson. After walking around Anderson, we went to Falls Park, which Arran knew was my favorite place. We walked down the park's path for a while and then headed back to the waterfalls. Before we got to the waterfalls, Arran spent some time trying to skip rocks in the water (which I now know was a stall for my friends, my sister and his sister to view the proposal from the bridge above). We climbed some rocks up the waterfall and Arran captured my picture sitting at the top. When I turned around to grab my purse, Arran was down on one knee with the ring! After my shock and jumping around, I finally got a "yes!" out. We had a wonderful time celebrating with my friends and family afterwards. September 21st was one of the best days of my life and I look forward to July 25th to top it all!
