Whether you're up for a hike or would rather simply sit and take in the views, the James River has it all! Take a walk or bike ride along the James River Park System—you can enjoy picturesque views of the river and the city skyline. The Canal Walk also features street art, statues, restaurants, and tons of green space.

Checkout Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens for a peaceful afternoon strolling through the most perfect manicured gardens in Richmond, VA. Enjoy a snack or sip in the Tea House, but be mindful that tickets are required and dogs are not permitted on the premises.

If you happen to be traveling with a pup, be sure to check out Ruff!
