I would recommend renting a car since the drive from the airport to the venue is about 1 hour long. Plus, with a car you will be free to explore all the awesome places Lake Tahoe has to offer. It's great to be able to drive around the lake if you want, drive to a hike, or just have the freedom to drive to the grocery store to grab some food.
