It’s hard to believe it’s almost been 4 years of dating and we will officially be getting married in the next few months, but I thought I would share a little bit about how Hannah and I originally first met. It all started back in the fall of 2017 when Ashley Laing invited me to her Sunday school class she was teaching at church. In her class, was where I officially met Hannah and our story began. She was always so joyful, smiling, and laughing. I soon fell in love with her personality and her love for Jesus. It was genuine, pure, and beautiful. I kind of was unsure though if she would really be interested in me, since I was about 6 and a half years older than her. I figured if the Lord wanted it to happen, then He would find a way to make it work. Soon after, our church got a new youth pastor, Pastor Ryan Tomko, who eventually asked me if I would help him lead the youth group. It was there, volunteering with the youth, that I really got to know Hannah even more. We went on many youth conferences and events together with the group, and every moment with her, I really felt in my heart she was the one. However, how would I ask her on a date? She was, at the time, a minor after all. To my surprise, I received a text from her asking if I would want to go see the new Star Wars movie with her. This was actually our first official date. I was little nervous, but still really excited. When we got in the theater, after being goofy and laughing at all the random movie trailers, there was this moment during the movie where I just paused. I thought to myself, it feels like we’ve been friends for a lifetime somehow. It was such an amazing time and confirmed even more in my heart she was the one. Who knew that these would be the starting moments for Hannah and I that would lead us to becoming some of the best of friends and future Mr. and Mrs. Coutcher. I can’t wait to marry you Hannah June 18th, 2022! I love you!
Brunch, nails done, shopping at Gabes and then a walk through the Botanical Gardens with my future sister Morgan was the perfect way to get to you. When I saw those white curtains draped on the gazebo my heart fluttered as I eagerly walked towards you. You looked so handsome, and you dressed up just for me. You wore a long white sleeve dress shirt, a black tie, a silver tie clip, black pants, and black dress shoes. You also wore the corgi socks I got you for my high school prom! I was so excited, I didn’t really have time to take in all of the decorations you had put up around the gazebo. You put up bulb lights, white/clear curtains and pink peonies and white baby breath flowers above and around the entrance to the gazebo. It was so sweet! You said your speech, and I was so excited/laughing crying at all that you did for me and the way that you showed me your love, that I had to remind myself to listen to the words that you were saying! It was then, that you told me that since our first date you knew that I was the one you wanted to spend the rest of your life with. You said, that you’ve never met anyone else like me and that you loved me and would I marry you? And I said YES! We hugged and kissed and you put the most simple, yet beautifully elegant ring on my finger! We hugged again and then I heard clapping and I looked over and both of our immediate families were all standing off in the corner! I thought the clapping was from random bystanders, but I turned to look and I made direct eye contact with my momma and said, “You knew?!” She had known the plan for a whole week haha. Then we got to hug everyone and it was the coolest thing having them all there! After some photos together with our new titles fiance and fiancee, we walked around the park. Then, we called all of our friends and family. Then we went to Zia’s for a romantic dinner date, traveled back to my house for angel food cake, and then we called more friends and family to share the good news!
