God’s timing is always right! Aaron had just moved to Abilene, TX from New Mexico in the summer of 2015. I was attending college in Abilene, TX at HSU. In September 2015, we met while both working at Academy Sports + Outdoors! He was a footwear sales associate and I was a cashier. He would come buy snacks on his break to come to my register so he could talk to me. There was one night they were having employees leave early because we weren’t busy. He was heading up front to clock out near the registers and at that time they were asking about 3 cashiers which one of us would head out. Since I saw he was leaving, then I quickly volunteered! As he was coming back from clocking out and getting ready to leave, then I had him wait up for me. That evening was our first date: movie and dinner on 10-23-15!

Aaron had a full day planned for the proposal: lunch reservations in downtown Fort Worth, go-karts, mini golf, snow cones, Reunion Tower in Dallas, and dinner! At Reunion Tower, we had just gotten outside on the deck looking over the city, and I saw a really pretty church while I was looking through one of the observation binoculars and as I was turning to Aaron to tell him to come look in to see, he was kneeling down proposing! Fun fact: at the end of the day, we realized we had been out doing activities for 7.5 hours straight, which coincidentally, at that time, then 7.5 was the number of years we had been together!
