How We Met

7.13.2018

Hannah and Tom first met on the dating app Hinge in Chicago during the Summer of 2018, and had their first date at the Robey Hotel rooftop in Chicago. Unbeknownst to Tom (& only Tom), their paths had actually crossed a few years before then, as they were both part of Boston College's class of 2016. While Hannah remembers Tom walking through the quad with his glasses and giant backpack, Tom's head was seemingly always in the clouds or in the books. Fast forwarding a few years, as they continued to get to know each other, they learned they had more than just Boston College in common. Shared morals, meticulously planned schedules, music, and much more would bring the pair closer over the following years. The two couldn't be more excited to tie the knot surrounded by their family & friends.

The Proposal

6.3.2023

Tom and Hannah recently relocated to Brooklyn from the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Although she adored her new neighborhood, Hannah deeply missed her frequent Central Park strolls. Tom invited his sister, Katie, to visit their new apartment and plant the engagement seed. Katie informed Hannah about a picnic that she was hosting in Central Park on June 3rd. As you might have guessed, there would be no such picnic on that day. On the day of the proposal, Katie sent texts to lure Hannah and Tom to a location near the Bethesda Fountain. Due to subway delays, the pair were running 30 minutes late to Katie's picnic. Although Hannah wasn't concerned, Tom felt anxious because he had hired a photographer to capture the proposal. Minutes before they arrived at the desired location, an animal rights protester had taken the carefully planned spot. Yes, you read that right. Tom stalled by pretending to call Katie, all the while texting the photographer to ask the animal rights protester (& the giant television she was holding showing chicken processing plants on a loop) to move. After a few non-verbal queues between Tom and the photographer, Tom decided he needed to act, finding another location nearby. Tom turned to Hannah and confessed, "So, there's actually no picnic…" Tears ensued, and a lot of them. Tom explained that he knew how much Hannah loved Central Park, and he wanted to propose in a place they could always return to, to remember this moment of love. He asked her to marry him, and she said yes!
