Alright ya’ll, after much deliberation, we’ve decided to cancel our reception that we had postponed for September 2021. We feel grateful to have gotten married in the middle of a pandemic, blessed that no one got COVID, and hopeful that we can take a real honeymoon in the near future! Thank you so much for bearing with us and understanding. Your support and love means the world. We hope to celebrate at some point with each and every one of you! Looking forward to safe gatherings soon, Hannah and Lee
Hannah was the bartender at Lee’s dad’s birthday party, where she made the best slightly dirty gin martini Lee had ever had. Little did he know that she had just learned to make one 30 minutes earlier... Truthfully, Hannah's sister, Emily, had told her about Lee before the party (no pressure). They were introduced, and didn't think too much about it, as he had just graduated law school and was preparing to take the bar exam, and Hannah didn’t expect her sister’s potential “setup” to develop into anything. Four months later, Lee called Emily to ask for Hannah's phone number. She happily gave it, and was so excited, she told Hannah almost immediately. Hannah said, “If he doesn’t leave a voicemail, I’ll block his number,” (too many robo calls) to which Emily squealed, “What if he’s already called and you missed it?!” Hannah replied, “Then I guess it wasn’t meant to be.” Guess who called and left a voicemail just a couple of days later? They met for drinks at Tupelo Honey on their first date, where Hannah was 15 not-exactly-on-purpose minutes late. The conversation was comfortable and easy, and three hours later they both realized what a wonderful time they had had. Lee said he’d like to do this again, as did Hannah, and she was thrilled when he called to ask her out to dinner. They had several more dates over the new few weeks. One particular night after dinner, Hannah invited Lee in for a nightcap. Naturally, she put a record on (Van Morrison, specifically), when suddenly he asked her to dance. She was totally swept away in her living room! On about their fifth date, as he pulled into Hannah's driveway to drop her off, he hesitated as he said, “How do you think this is going?” (Insert nervous stomach drop here) “Pretty well, I think,” she responded. He stumbled again, “I mean, I really like you. And I like where this is going.” “Me too,” she said. A few concerts, sporting events, road trips, and milestones later, you can say it’s in fact, going well!
