"I have found the one whom my soul loves"
Hannah and Dakotah met in chemistry class early in her fall semester of sophomore year and his junior year. Dakotah "accidentally" sat in a "lefty" desk and had to move over and sit directly next to Hannah. They laughed, talked, became class partners for homework assignments, and passed notes on gum wrappers to each other all throughout the semester. Two months later, they became official October 9, 2018.
Shortly after becoming boyfriend and girlfriend, Dakotah invited Hannah to Colorado to go to a Blackbear concert at RedRocks Amphitheater. Mike Posner said to the crowd "if you are holding back or haven't said 'I love you' in a while, tell that person, because love is powerful and not every moment is promised," and Dakotah turned to Hannah and told her he loved her and she loved him, and that's when they realized they would be forever.
A few weeks before OSU graduation, Dakotah invited Hannah on a hike. This is very normal for these two because they are very outdoorsy, adventurous people. Several weeks ahead of that, over Christmas break, Dakotah asked Hannah's mom and dad for their blessing. Fast forward to March 27, 2021, Dakotah and Hannah hiked for a few hours on the hiking trails at Lake McMurtry in Stillwater. They came to the end and to Hannah's surprise she sees her mom, ("is that my mom?" you can hear in the video) her dad, her two sisters (one of which Dakotah got to fly in from Chicago in secret), his mom and dad, and his little sister. Hannah turned around and Dakotah was down on one knee. There were tears, there were laughs, there was dancing, and there was champagne popping. They went back to the lake, played corn hole and called all of their family and friends to tell them that "WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!"
