We met as staff at Culture Jam youth empowerment camp on the Oregon Country Fair site, and became quick friends while playing group games during staff training. Throughout that week of camp we connected over our shared love of music and helping youth express their full creative selves. Over the years we became closer friends, dancing together at ecstatic dance and riding bikes back to our South Eugene neighborhood to play music at each others houses.

We were at a weekend campout in Kings Valley, Oregon, at Hannah's long-time family friend April's farm. We'd gathered with a group of friends and family to celebrate Hannah's mom's birthday and to watch the total solar eclipse. Snuggled-up on a blanket watching the sun and the moon come into alignment, Paul slipped the ring into Hannah's hand at the moment of totality. With tear-filled smiles, a kiss and a hug, it was official, we're getting married!
