Hannie and Mattie's story began in 2017 as best friends in highschool, where the pair formed a bond that would stand the test of time, and distance! The youngsters spent countless days planning themed parties, wreaking havoc in the classroom, and creating their beloved silly productions. Turning “just friends” into… “just best friends” About a year later, they set off to opposite corners of the world. Matt moved to New York and Hanna to Flagstaff to pursue their college dreams. Despite being 3,357 miles apart, enduring a pandemic, and recovering from Matt's fourth open heart surgery, the two besties found a way to stay connected through every twist and turn life threw at them. Their “just best friendship” began to blossom into something more. After four years of platonic love, Matt took a gamble and asked Hanna to be his girlfriend! (February 2021 in Marco Island, FL) For the next two years, 2021-2023, the happy couple embraced the excitement and the unknown of long distance. Extended trips, facetime dates, and 78 budget economy flights later, Hannie and Mattie were closer than ever! The idea of living together loomed, but Hanna still had her childhood horse Ruby to look after in Arizona and Matt still had big dreams to pursue in New York. In March of 2023, Hanna unfortunately lost her beloved Ruby to old age. Despite the grief and emptiness she felt, she saw beauty in Ruby's divine timing. Not long after her passing, Matt was given the opportunity to sign with a talent agency in Los Angeles, CA. Both of these events allowed Hanna and Matt to move into their first apartment in sunny Southern California! (June of 2023) Just over a year and a half in a new city posed no threat to the duo's love story. In fact the two fell even more in love with each other, more than either thought possible. Matt had known since he was 17 years old that he would marry Hanna, but this phase in their lives solidified his decision to propose. After months of planning, the day finally arrived. The loving pair took their annual trip to Marco Island, FL, where Matt got down on one knee in the beautiful white sand and asked Hanna to marry him. Without hesitation, she said yes! We can’t wait to celebrate our love story with all of you on February 7th, 2026!
