The elevator connects the downtown area to the Promenade, which is a nice walking path along a cliff. Walk away from the elevator all the way to Willamette Falls!
Walk along the Willamette River in Portland. Walk over one of the bridges to make it a loop!
Portland’s famous bookstore that takes up a whole city block - they have great Oregon souvenirs and a giant selection of books!
One of our favorite in-town hikes in the Portland area!
About a 30-45 minute drive from Portland, in the Columbia River gorge. These are the most iconic falls in Oregon - you can walk right up to the falls, hike up to the top of the falls (lots of switchbacks but great views), or do an 8-mile loop hike!
Beautiful waterfall hike in the Columbia River Gorge! It's uphill, but is a beautiful short hike to some spectacular waterfalls.
The Astoria Column has some of the best views on the coast! You can see all of Astoria, where the Columbia River meets the ocean. ($5 to park)
Beautiful state park with views of cannon beach and the haystack rocks. Check out crescent beach hike (trailhead near the bathroom at the main parking lot) for a nice hike down to the beach. Explore the sea caves at low tide! Or, drive a little farther to Indian beach, where there is another trail to Tillamook head, with views of the lighthouse!
Our favorite spot in Cannon Beach - great fish tacos and beer!
One of our favorite hikes! Enjoy a 5 mile hike to Cape Falcon, through a beautiful old growth forest with amazing views of the coast. Check out Short Sand beach afterwards. Keep an eye out for whales!
One of our favorite beaches, just a half mile walk from the parking lot. Bring a picnic, check out the tide pools, watch the surfers (or go surfing!), or have a beach bonfire!
A tough, but amazing hike up to the top of Neahkahnie Mountain. Great views up and down the coast!
CHEESE! And ice cream! They have a great gift shop too. It can get packed on the weekends, but it's worth a stop!
Beautiful hike, old growth forest, rainforest vibes! There is also a great beach (rocks, not sand) at a day use area.
This is a fun stop. There is a huge haystack rock here (like the one at Cannon Beach). Fun beach. lots of surfers and boats that people pull right onto the beach. If you are ambitious, climb to the top of the dune for an awesome view!
