Will the ceremony be on the sand?

Answer

Yes! Our ceremony will be barefoot in the sand.

What colors should I avoid?

Answer

We kindly ask guests to avoid wearing white or shades that photograph as white (ivory, cream, etc.) as well as black.

Do we have to stay at the resort?

Answer

Yes, as this is a destination wedding, we kindly ask guests to stay at our host resort to attend wedding events. If there our children then guests can stay at the Dreams Resort next door.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Cancun is typically warm and humid. Lightweight, breathable fabrics are highly recommended.

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

Please fly into Cancún International Airport (CUN). Our resort in Playa Mujeres is approximately 40 minutes from the airport.

Is the resort all-inclusive?

Answer

Yes! Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort. Your stay includes unlimited meals and drinks, 24-hour room service, daily activities and entertainment, Wi-Fi, gratuities, and more. Optional upgrades, spa treatments, golf enhancements, and off-site excursions are available for an additional cost.

WHEN TO BOOK FLIGHTS?

Answer

Book flights 4-8 months in advance. As the date gets closer, prices will increase. Recommended to book ahead of time to avoid delays.

DO I NEED A PASSPORT?

Answer

Yes, all guests traveling to Cancun, MX will require a passport. If you do not have one at this time, it is recommended to obtain one as early as possible. If you do have one, please check the expiration. For more info: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html

WILL TRANSPORTATION BE AVAILABLE FROM THE AIRPORT TO Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort?

Answer

Yes, this will be available for all guests who book their rooms directly through our travel Agent Ligia Landim. The travel fare to and from the airport in Cancun is included in your room payment. It is to our understanding that the transportation is not a private charter, however that can be arranged upon request at an additional cost. Please notify Ligia (travel agent) when booking your room if you wish to have private transportation or if you are ok with standard transportation (not private).

HOW CAN GUESTS BOOK THEIR ROOMS FOR THEIR STAY AT Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort?

Our travel agent, Ligia Landim with Liz Moore Destination Weddings, will be the point of contact for a room quote and for the booking process. Room preferences and the number of booked days/nights have been collected from all guests at this point in time. If any of the requested room information provided to us has changed, please advise so we can better accommodate to you and your stay.

DO THE GUESTS HAVE TO PAY THEIR BOOKING ALL UPFRONT OR IS THERE A PAYMENT PLAN AVAILABLE?

Once you fill out the Room Request, Final balance is due by 8/1/2026. It is interest-free! A minimum non-refundable deposit of $100 per person is due no later than 5/1/2026 in order to secure your room and private roundtrip airport/resort/airport transportation. WHEN IS THE FINAL BALANCE DUE TO BOOK A ROOM?

50% due on July 1, 2026 and 100% due on August 1, 2026.

WHEN SHOULD GUESTS START TO ARRIVE IN CANCUN AND WHEN SHOULD THEY DEPART BACK HOME?

We are hoping our guests can meet us in Cancun anytime between 10/8/2026 - 10/11/2026. As far as departure and returning home, we ask that our guests stay a minimum of 3 nights.

WILL THE RESORT AND TRANSPORTATION OFFERINGS SPEAK ENGLISH?

Answer

Yes all staff and accommodations will have English speaking drivers and hospitality.

WILL WE NEED MEXICO CURRENCY?

Answer

Most expenses are covered at the all-inclusive resort. Bring a small amount of cash (pesos or USD) for optional tips. Credit cards work best for any additional excursions or purchases.
