While we adore your children, our wedding will be adults-only, except for kids in the wedding party. We hope you enjoy a night off and celebrate with us!
Saturday, February 18, 2023, the story of Hanna and George began in a little bar in the West Village. In the age of technology, websites, and applications, Wi-Fi, TikTok, and Bluetooth, DVD's, CD's, satellite radios, AI and robots, these two overcame all the odds and found each-other in the good ol' fashion way...in real life (IRL as the kids say). How did it happen you ask? Did they lock eyes from across the sea of people in that bar and fall instantly for each other -- love at first sight, perhaps? Was it a rom-com type moment of these two bumping into each other, Hanna spilling her drank on George, some witty banter, and a spark that could've lit the place ablaze? Nope. Not even close. None of that. You see, George at that time, was 34 years, 6 months, and 7 days old. A tired, grizzly old fella. He found himself in a bar full of life, surrounded by young mid-20 year olds (heck yea, George), he felt out of place... until a shiny jacket appeared. That's not a euphuism or metaphor, it was Hanna's friend Rochelle's bright silver shiny winter coat. You see, George himself isn't that bright, he's easily attracted by colors and shiny things. Without hesitating, George, drawn to the silver jacket, walked up to Rochelle, and the group of girls she was with at the bar. "Wow, you're the most fashionable group I've seen, what are you doing in a bar like this?!" he said while scanning the group of girls, with salaciously nefarious thoughts in mind (he is a man after all, ugh)... his eyes wandered girl-to-girl, like a wolf eyeing a heard of sheep (sheesh, this guy sounds a little off)...But then, something happened, his eyes landed on his soon to be Hanna and his heart skipped a beat, her beauty and angelic features pierced his cold-hardened armor..."you all look incredible! Well, except for her, she looks scary," George said, intimidated, but drawn to Hanna's uninterested, unamused gaze. The group, I believe it was Rochelle, responded, "Oh, her? She's not scary, she's just Swedish." To the Swedes reading this. You're a beautiful people, inside and out, we are not saying Swedes are angry, scary or angry/scary looking...it's just a joke. Greeks are angrier looking anyway (to the Greeks reading this, we're just kidding, but you guys do yell a lot, very emotional people, sheesh...Swedes please be prepared for that on wedding day). At that moment, George was done for. It's the truth. He's on record saying the first thought he had in that cute little head of his was "wow...she looks like an actress, a movie star." Followed quickly by his second thought, and first question to Hanna, "Swedish?!? Do you know Zlatan? Marcus Berg? Henrik Larsson?" Hanna is on record for saying...nothing. She didn't really speak to George that night (lol). That's not a joke. She just looked at him like "..." There's more to the story, but we were told to keep this short. I'll end here by saying, we are so beyond grateful to have met that cold winter night, we are so blessed and lucky to have been brought together by this crazy world, and we cannot wait to be wed in front of our family and friends in a country that we love. Also, special shout-out to our parents for playing a part in giving birth to us (love you George, Vasiliki, Agneta, and Peter) and making this possible. And a very special shoutout to George’s good friends, Alex Giannikas and Ian Wall, without them George would’ve stayed home that night, watching YouTube videos and eating cookies. Without those two very special boys, George wouldn’t have met his very special woman. Ian and Alex, thank you, we are all going to be celebrating because of you two. Thank you. I hope everyone seeks you out at the reception and gives you a big hug. They're in Greece because of you. To be continued…on July 29, 2026.
