Rebecca and Eamonn actually attended Pre-School together! Don't worry, they haven't been dating since then. Rebecca and Eamonn continued through middle and high school together where they grew to become close friends. Rebecca would turn to Eamonn often for advice, while Eamonn would ask Rebecca to copy her science homework. In the Fall of 2011, Rebecca went off to attend college at the University of Maryland in College Park. One day after Rebecca’s departure, Eamonn called his good friend (and best man) Will and said, “I think I miss Becca.” Will replied, “Me too,” to which Eamonn shared, “No, I really, really miss her.” In the following weeks, Eamonn traveled to Maryland where he took Rebecca on their first date to the Baltimore Inner Harbor, and the rest is history. Today, after 10 years together, Rebecca and Eamonn live on the Upper East Side with their puppy Callie.

Each month, Rebecca and Eamonn take turns planning a surprise date night for one another. On an unusually pleasant evening in November, Eamonn took his turn and suggested a walk to Carl Churz Park, one of their favorite Upper East Side spots. After a near collision with a Citi Biker, (Eamonn was so nervous he forgot to look both ways) they arrived at the promenade where Eamonn got down on one knee and asked Rebecca to spend the rest of her life with him. Following Rebecca’s enthusiastic “yes!” the couple headed to a small Italian restaurant to celebrate. Along the way, Rebecca was sure to tell everyone they saw the exciting news. The surprises continued the next day when Eamonn, with the help of the couple’s parents, threw a celebration in the Hanley’s backyard. On another beautiful day in November (what are the odds?), Rebecca and Eamonn celebrated their engagement with their closest family and friends. What a way to kick off forever!
