We hope you get to enjoy the beautiful DC area! Please take advantage of the long weekend & explore! Here are a few of our recommendations while you are here.

National Mall

The Mall is typically busiest during the day. We recommend going at night - all the monuments are lit up & beautiful. If you're feeling adventurous, rent a scooter or bike & you can see them all quickly! If you do go during the day, pack a picnic and some games! We love hanging out at Constitution Gardens! If you enjoy museums, the Smithsonian Museums are all wonderful - please note, they are currently require a "free timed-entry" pass, so you need to reserve your time in advance. We really love the National Portrait Gallery & National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Nationals Park

Catch a game at Nats Park! They will be playing the Mets Labor day weekend. We recommend sitting in the right field upper deck - you will have a view of the Washington Monument!

Georgetown

Old Town

Old Town is a charming & historic city in DC! There are lots of nice restaurants along cobblestone streets & on the waterfront.

US Marine Corps War Memorial

A less visited, but highly recommended spot! It's right next to Arlington National Cemetery & you will get a beautiful view of the National Mall without all the crowds! We live right near it, so frequently walk here!

Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon, VA

About 30 minutes outsides of DC, you can visit George & Martha's historic home!

Museum of the Bible
