Wedding Party

Meet the people who Belén and Matt asked to be by their side on the big day!

Caitlin Staab

Wedding Party Comrade

I'm Caitlin, and I've been preparing for Belen's wedding for 15 years.

AJ Martinez

Wedding Party Comrade

*Rustling about, church bells ringing, deep breaths, insert rock music* AJ is a millennial, once described by Matt as "the hipster to the hipster" and "likeable asshole", that began his friendship with Matt as teenagers. Comrades and musical buddies ever since, minus a rocky period and disagreement over the Force Awakens. AJ is 1/3 of a forged-in-fire bestie friendship with Matt. Consider him the Older Brother who will beat you up for picking on him. Just Kidding.

Mario Serrano

Wedding Party Comrade

First came love. Then came marriage. But before all of that, came Mario and Matt. Since that time they’ve been playing far too loud in bands ever since.  1/3 of a Sanderson sister, don’t ask which is which. Mario and Matt have been to Disneyland together more times than he and his wife. Time to catch up, Belen.

Trini Herrera

Wedding Party Comrade

Hiya! I'm Belen's SASPA. I'm 25, fluent in sass, and obsessed with my dogs. Subscribe!

Sarah Carpenter

Wedding Party Comrade

Sarah is Belen's best work buddy turned friend. The two of them have been known to draw complaints form the rest of the department about their general noise and merriment.

Tim Garcia

Wedding Party Comrade

Always down for a hang. A big fan of chilling and even relaxing. Catch Tim in your local tunnel, riding around town.

Hannah Churchill

Wedding Party Comrade

Hannah and Belén met in college and bonded through good times and more than a few cocktails. She loves to play video games and spend time with her loved ones. Full of great stories and always down for a good laugh. *Ghost written by Tim Garcia*

Brendan Dezember

Officiant Comrade

I first met Belen and Matt at the Music Store in 2012 where I operate the instrument repair shop. Our friend group expanded and grew into evening hangouts, the famed “Friday Cone.” During the covid shutdown we all began video chatting online every week to watch shows, play games and be together in some capacity. We still carry on this tradition every Wednesday. In 2018, I took over the repair business and have grown it to the point where I now work on roughly 3,000 instruments a year for the greater Phoenix area. I work long days and enjoy every minute of it. I love being with my partner Laura, her dog Toast, and my cat Wizard. I play guitar in a doom metal band called Collapsian. In my free time I like watching reality TV, researching UFOs/extra-terrestrials, and writing music. It is a great honor to be included in sharing this special time with Matt and Belen. They are two friends I love and respect dearly, and I am thrilled to officiate their ceremony.
