It turns out their story started long before they ever met. Their families had unknowingly crossed paths for years. Hannah’s dad and Andrew’s mom went to school together, and Hannah’s parents bought their house from Andrew’s aunt over twenty years ago. They grew up just ten minutes apart but somehow never met… until August 2024. Hannah had posted an Instagram story asking a question about country music. Andrew, being the self-proclaimed country music connoisseur that he is, couldn’t resist responding. One message led to another, and soon the two were sitting across from each other at Smokin’ Fatty’s BBQ on their first date. After that first dinner, Andrew was not sure there would be a second - Hannah seemed pretty uninterested (turns out he’s not great at reading women). But, he could not have been more wrong. A week later, they went to a Notre Dame football game, and not long after that, on October 20th, Andrew asked Hannah to be his girlfriend - a decision he hadn’t planned on making that night, but one that felt right. Since then, doing life together has been full of adventure, from Florida beaches to Michigan hikes and Tennessee mountain views. The two often joke that since Hannah is two years older, Andrew’s job is to “keep her young"! After a trip to Florida in spring 2025, both knew this was something that would last. Andrew bought the ring in May and, somehow, kept it a secret for months. Without Hannah knowing, Andrew met her parents for lunch to ask for their blessing. In the weeks that followed, he quietly shared his plans with family and friends - including Hannah’s cousin, Jocelyn, and her husband, Cam, who helped plan the proposal. On October 18th, 2025, during the first day of a fall break trip to Tennessee, Andrew proposed outside at the cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains for the perfect, private proposal. Two days later, both sets of parents surprised Hannah and joined the trip, celebrating both the engagement and her birthday! And now, Andrew and Hannah are beyond excited to start this next chapter surrounded by the people who have played the most special roles in their story.
