It all started 10 years ago, the summer before our senior year of high school. We met through mutual friends and spent that year getting closer—though we swore we’d keep things casual since we were both supposed to leave Delaware for college. But fate had other plans, and we both ended up staying local. After spending more and more time together, from weekend hangouts & proms to Senior Week and Firefly Festival, Kyle finally made things official on June 18, 2016. From there, our love grew through every season of life. We moved in together in Fenwick Island in 2020, then made the move to Washington, D.C. in 2023. We both knew marriage was on the horizon, and in early 2024, we went ring shopping to get the ball rolling. Kyle secretly bought the ring on our 8-year anniversary (06.18.24) and planned the perfect proposal during a trip to the Bahamas. On our very first night, Kyle suggested we go to dinner at a beachside restaurant. He was so nervous he could barely eat—meanwhile, Hailey had no idea what was coming (even after he randomly asked to take sunset pictures, which he never does!). After dinner, we walked down to a quiet, private pier just as the sun was setting. Kyle distracted Hailey by telling her to take a photo of a fish swimming by—and while she struggled to get the shot, he got down on one knee. When she finally turned around, there he was—ring in hand! Cue the happy tears and about a thousand shouts of "yes"! We spent the night walking the beach, soaking it all in, and celebrating this new chapter. It was everything we dreamed of and more. The happiest, most love-filled moment of our lives (so far!).
