We ask that everyone dress nicely but weather appropriate. No shorts, tshirts, or swimwear. Slacks, button ups, flowy dresses, or nice blouses appreciated. Ties, jackets, etc not required. We ask that everyone consider wearing bright colors (not white) and consider floral patterns. The vibe should be fun and tropical but still nice!
Unfortunately, venue space on the island is limited! To allow for as many of our favorite people as possible to attend, only those listed on the invitations will be permitted to join the ceremony. If you have been allotted a plus one, you will find that information in the invitation suite.
If you've sailed before, you likely already know the kinds of things to bring and not to bring. Make sure you pack enough medications/ toiletries for 2 weeks as recommended by the cruise line to prepare in the event of an emergency. Dramamine or motion sickness meds are a good choice to bring, even if you do not think you will be motion sick. Better safe than sorry! Bring casual and comfy clothing for the ship and port days, your wedding attire, and be prepared for 1 formal night on the ship. Hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, and small hand/neck fans encouraged as even though it is February, it is the Bahamas and will be warm and humid. Some of our favorite cruise items include magnetic hooks for the walls, poo-pourri (duh), luggage tag holders, lanyards, and a reusable cup/water bottle!
Passports are always recommended. In the event something happened and you missed the boat in port, a passport will make things easier to fly back/ return to the US. With that said, since this is a closed loop cruise, even though you are leaving the country, you do not NEED a passport. You can travel with a birth certificate and Real ID. If your name is different than your birth certificate due to marriage or other life event, please bring supporting documentation of this as well. In addition to identification, you will need to print your boarding pass and cruise documents that will be provided by the cruise line approximately 1 week before the cruise.
We are asking you to please select "Your Time" dining when completing your cruise profile. This will allow us all to dine in the main dining room together on the night of the wedding and any additional nights we'd like to dine together. In addition, unlike the timed dining slots, it allows flexibility in the event there is something going on somewhere on the ship that you'd like to attend... you are not tied down to a specific dining time. Convenient, right?
Short answer, yes! You're spending your hard earned money to come and join us! If you find something that you want to do we encourage you to do so! Please do not plan any excursions for our first port day in Half Moon Cay as this is the day of the wedding and we will be unable to explore port. We will have ceremony on the beach followed by a toast and cake back on board. Once back at sea, we will have dinner in the main dining room together. We are in the works for planning an excursion for the port of Nassau, Bahamas. Once we do, we will update the "The Cruise" tab. Please feel free to join us if you wish or plan your own adventures! Stay tuned...
This is completely up to you! Carnival offers a beverage package on board called "Cheers". This package is roughly $80 per person, per day and does have to be purchased for the entirety of the cruise and for all members of the cabin over the age of 21. The package includes 15 alcoholic and specialty beverages per 24 hour period-- This includes beer, wine, mixed drinks, shots, sodas, milkshakes, and specialty coffees. If you are not a heavy drinker and only think you will consume a couple of beverages a day, it's probably not worth the investment, however, if you think you'll have several of these beverages a day then please consider the investment as prices for drinks add up fast! Carnival's drink package does NOT work on their private islands or in port. It is for on ship consumption ONLY. Carnival does offer a non-alcoholic beverage package called "Bottomless Bubbles" at a $15-20 per person per day charge which covers unlimited soda on board. Beginning summer of 2025, Carnival is transitioning to Coke products on board. The standard included beverages on board without a package are coffee, water, tea, lemonade, and hot chocolate. *Note: Every person is permitted to bring 1 sealed, 12 pack of soda and 1 sealed bottle of wine on board in their carry on.
