How We Met

7/11/2017

Funny story, Nick first met Kelsey's parents before he ever met her. They were looking for a new church in the area and were told to talk with this guy Nick about what small groups the church may offer (having their daughter in mind). One Tuesday night, Kelsey showed up to the young adult group at the church. Once Nick caught glimpse of her, he instantly knew who she was and thought she was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. Later that night the whole group went out for dinner and Kelsey ordered chicken & waffles. Nick was very impressed and knew he wanted to get to know her more. A little over a month later, they had their first date at a quaint little coffee shop in Cave Creek. And the rest was history! It just goes to show you never know who God is going to be bringing into your life!

How He Asked

12/3/2017

Nick knew that it was important for the following things to be apart of the proposal: Kelsey's family to be there, there needed to be a lot of lights, her hair and nails needed to be done, and it needed to be a SURPRISE! Unfortunately for Nick, he is terrible at keeping secrets from Kelsey (Kelsey already knew the proposal was coming and that Nick had a ring. I know guys super lame!). Fortunately, she didn't know when, where, and how it was going to happen and with A LOT of help from both Kelsey's and his family a plan was born... December 3rd was the date that Kelsey's sister Courtney would be coming into town which provided the perfect opportunity for maximum surprise and a magical evening! While the girls were getting ready for a nice quiet dinner down at Scottsdale Waterfront Nick was busy getting things set up for the proposal. Earlier in the week Nick and Kelsey's Mother had found a giant lit up Christmas ornament at the Waterfront that was perfectly magical! After dinner the girls and Kelsey's Father walked over to the ornament where Nick was waiting to ask Kelsey's hand in marriage; to which she said an emphatic "YES!" much to the relief and joy of Nick. The crowd that had formed to watch cheered and congratulated the happy couple, a flamenco band at one of the local restaurants played romantic music, and to top it off there was even a super moon that night! It was truly a night to remember and beautiful way to begin their engagement.
