Three things we love are God, our friends, and food. After attending church, our friends occasionally go out for lunch. One particular afternoon there was someone I hadn't ever met sitting across from me. It was a quiet hunk named Travis. I didn't think he'd ever give me the light of day, so I didn't pay him much attention. However, our friendship grew through spending time with friends and attending our weekly bible study. Little did I know that something was growing in his heart for me. Around December, we were asked to lead a new young adult bible study. This forced us to spend more time together. We kept finding reasons to text each other about our bible study group or just chat. Before going on a trip to Washington, D.C. with a dozen of our best friends, Travis asked if he could help me grocery shop. We ended up getting ice cream and walking around City Center. We both knew at that time there was something growing between us. Over the following days we were inseparable and transitioned from being just friends to our silly, adventurous, and loving relationship. If we aren't with our friends, or serving our church, you can probably find us at a Washington Nationals game. "Hangers" is the goofy name I came up with for our bible study. It combines our last names (Han)cock & Ro(gers). It reminded me of the passage in Hebrews 10:23, "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful." I deeply appreciate our God-given opportunity to lead our friends in this bible study. We get to come together weekly to share our faith and dig in to grow closer to Jesus. Travis and I both love God more than we love each other, so it's truly a blessing that he uses us to serve Him in this way together. "We love because he first loved us." 1 John 4:19
