Save the dates with the new date are out, and in lieu of sending another official invite, all the wedding details are here. To RSVP, you can do so on our site or mail in the RSVP card sent last year! Can't wait to celebrate with you!

How We Met

That one time at summer camp...

We, first, became friends while working at a Christian summer camp based out of Nashville, TN. From traveling across the Southeastern U.S. to teaching children about Jesus, we grew to become best friends. At that time, Han was a junior in college at Auburn University and Jess was an elementary school PE teacher in Sevier County. Over the next months and years, we fell in love and desired to spend the rest of our lives together. We've definitely had our ups and downs, but through it all, we've grown closer to each other and into the women the Lord desires for us to be--both together and as individuals.

J >>> H Proposal

07.24.2020

We were headed to Auburn one weekend in July, which is where Han went to college, and where I drove to countless times the first couple of years we were dating. We went to dinner that night at a place downtown and the weather was amazing, so we decided to take a walk around Auburn's campus for some good ole nostalgia. We walked to her favorite building, Samford Hall, and I found the trees where we used to hammock. I asked her to dance with me. I began to sing (I can't sing by the way) our favorite song by Ben Rector, "Forever Like That", but could only get out one line before I started crying. Then I just whispered the rest of the first verse while Han kept asking "Why are you crying?" and "What is happening right now?" After that, I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me, where Han's response was "Oh my gosh! Is that mine?? Can I touch it??"...followed by "YES!" We celebrated with pictures on Samford Lawn and Margaritas!

H >>> J Proposal

08.01.2020

After much conspiring with Jess' mom (Tammy) and sis-in-law (Calleigh), the proposal was set to happen in Gatlinburg, Jess' hometown. With a lot of convincing, Jess agreed to one last weekend trip before starting the school year. That morning, Jess and I planned to go to brunch with Tammy, Calleigh, and Colin (our nephew), but had to make a stop by Calleigh's school to go through some of her classroom stuff. I had mentioned to Jess that I really wanted a picture of my engagement ring with the mountains of Gatlinburg in the background. It just so happens that the school where Cal works also has a stellar view of the mountains, so it was the picture-perfect spot for this. When we pulled up, we got out of the car and headed to take a picture, when Colin started running towards Jess (right on cue). He was also yelling her name for the first time, which was the cutest thing ever! Jess couldn't handle the cuteness and was a complete puddle, which also caused her to not even notice the shirt he was wearing, which said "Will you MARRY my Aunt Han?" She picked him up, turned to look at me, and saw me on one knee holding her ring box. After realizing what was happening, she walked over to me and I asked her to marry me. Colin giggled and she said YES!
