FAQs

Question

RSVP?

Answer

Please RSVP before March 31st.

Question

Dress code?

Answer

We kindly ask that guests wear semi-formal beach attire. For women, think flowy dresses, floral or tropical prints, and bright, cheerful colors. For men, linens, khakis, and short-sleeve button-downs are perfect. Most importantly, we want everyone to feel comfortable, as our ceremony will take place right on the beach, so breathable, light fabrics are encouraged! Please reserve the color white for the bride and groom. If you are looking for some inspo, check out this pinterest board using the link below. https://pin.it/6pkAHvPOX

Question

Kids?

Answer

We absolutely love your little ones, but we kindly ask that our wedding day be an adults-only celebration. The Almare Hotel is also adults-only, so we hope this gives everyone the chance to relax, celebrate, and enjoy a fun night out with us. We truly appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to celebrate together!

Question

Registry?

Answer

We know guests may be curious about a registry, and we want to make this absolutely clear: we are not expecting any gifts. The fact that you are taking your time and resources to join us on this mini-vacation is already more than we could ever ask for, and we are so incredibly grateful. That said, we know there may still be some who wish to give something, so we will be putting together something small. But please, from the bottom of our hearts, do not feel obligated—your presence on our wedding day and your love and support throughout our relationship have been the greatest gift of all.

Question

Weather?

Answer

Late July in Isla Mujeres is hot, humid, and tropical! Daytime temperatures usually reach the upper 80s °F, while evenings stay warm in the mid-70s °F. The Caribbean waters are perfectly warm for swimming, averaging around 84 °F. July is also part of the rainy season, so brief afternoon showers are possible, but they usually pass quickly and leave plenty of sunshine. We recommend light, breathable clothing and lots of sunscreen.

Question

Communication?

Answer

We’ll be using a text messaging system through this website to keep everyone informed of important things. This will be our main way to send reminders, updates, and coordinate details on the day of the wedding, so you’ll always know what’s happening!

Question

Pesos/ Money?

Answer

The exchange rate for U.S. dollars to Mexican pesos is currently about 1 USD ≈ 17.5–18 MXN. So, for example, $20 USD would be roughly 355 pesos. Keep in mind that exchange rates fluctuate, but a quick Google search can give you the most up-to-date rate. You don’t need to get pesos before arriving in Isla Mujeres, as most places accept U.S. dollars. However, we recommend bringing some pesos for street vendors or smaller purchases, it often makes transactions easier. Most banks can order pesos in advance, but if you run out of time, kiosks at malls can also provide pesos quickly at rates similar to the official rate. This can be a fast and convenient way to get cash immediately in your hand. As for other purchases most credit cards do not charge additional for out of country purchases. However we recommend checking with your bank beforehand and inform them that you will be making purchases out of the country.

Question

Transportation?

Answer

When you arrive to Cancun airport a shuttle service will pick you up from the airport. The shuttle service will then take you from the Cancun airport directly to The Almare Resort via a private boat ride. It is about a 20-30 minute drive from the airport to the marina and about a 20-30 minute boat ride to the resort. More information to come soon regarding arranging vehicle and boat transfer. Since Isla Mujeres is such a small and walkable island, cars aren’t necessary. However, there are plenty of places to rent golf carts, and we’ll coordinate options with the hotel upon your arrival. If you prefer, taxis are also available for getting around, and the hotel can assist with arranging them as needed.

Answer

(Link to come soon) Please note that there is a 3-night minimum stay. Since our wedding is on a Saturday, our room block is Friday July 24th , Saturday July 25th, and Sunday July 26th nights. If you’d like to extend your stay, the room block also allows for additional nights, and we’ve secured the same special pricing for up to 3 days before (July 21st, 22nd, and 23rd) and 3 days after (July 27th, July 28th and July 29th) the wedding. So whether you want a longer getaway or just need a little extra time to relax, you’re more than welcome to make it a mini vacation! The last day to book your room within the room block is May 25th. We will send a reminder that week via text but we recommend booking your room as soon as possible.

Question

Cost?

Answer

We wanted to take a moment to break down the room pricing, as it can be a little confusing at first. For this example, we’ll use the base price of a standard room. A standard room for one person for one night is $399. A standard room for two people for one night is $449, which comes out to about $225 per person per night—so it’s more cost-effective to share a room. If you book a room that accommodates more than two people, there is an additional $350 per extra person. For example, a room that fits three people would cost: $449 + $350 = $799, which, divided among three people, is about $267 per person per night. This price includes your room, all food and beverages, taxes, and service charges. The only additional cost is a small local tax of $2.50 per person per night.
