Transportation: The Holiday Inn provides a complimentary shuttle to/from the Nice airport (NCE) 7 days per week, from 6 am and 10:45 pm. Contact the hotel if you would like to schedule transportation using the shuttle. For the day of the wedding, shuttles will be provided between the hotel and venue to make transportation seamless for our guests. If you do not stay at the Holiday Inn, please plan to be there on time to catch a shuttle (~4 pm, exact timing to be provided soon). If you plan to explore the area, public transport in and around Nice is provided by Lignes D'Azur. Almost all lines use the same 1.50 euro ticket, which can be bought from the driver or vending machines. Rideshare apps Uber and FreeNow operate in the area if you prefer to book a car. More information on public transportation in and around Nice can be found at: https://frenchriviera.travel/public-transport-nice/
Travel Note
Our wedding will take place in Nice, France, on June 7th, during the early summer season. Expect warm, sunny weather with a gentle Mediterranean breeze. The average temperature in June ranges from 65°F (18°C) to 77°F (25°C). Rainfall is rare, but it's always good to be prepared!
Travel Note
Promenade des Anglais stretches for 7 km along the sea. It leads to many interesting places and attractions in Nice. There are magnificent parks, museums, fashionable beaches, and, of course, luxury hotels and casinos. Walking the Promenade is a must while in Nice! Castle Hill (Colline du Château) dominates the city and divides the seaside part of Nice into two parts: the eastern part with the port, and the western part with the Old Town of Nice. At the top, accessible by elevator or stairs right next to the Promenade des Anglais, sits a manmade waterfall, ruins of an 11th century cathedral, and incredible panoramic views of Nice. East of Nice is Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, a peninsula containing stunning beaches and hiking opportunities. Villa & Jardins Ephrussi de Rothschild offers an idyllic view of the sea, with beautiful gardens and mazes to walk through. Make sure to research tickets online before visiting. Further east, the luxurious city-state of Monaco sits roughly a 30 minute drive from Nice. Attractions include: - Monaco-Ville (Le Rocher) is the only part of Monaco to have retained its original old town, complete with small, windy medieval lanes. It is home to the Prince's Palace and the Oceanographic Museum, one of Europe's best aquariums - Saint Nicholas Cathedral contains the grave of Grace Kelly, the Philadelphia-born actress who became Princess of Monaco through her marriage to Prince Rainier III. - Perhaps the most famous attraction is the Monte Carlo Casino. Dozens of movies have been filmed here, including multiple James Bond classics, as well as Ocean's Twelve. A roughly 45 minute trip west from Nice is the resort town of Cannes. Walk the medieval neighborhood of Suquet, visit The Palace of Festivals and Congresses (where the Cannes Film Festival will be taking place May 13 - 24), shop on Rue d'Antibes, and explore the waterfront Promenade de la Croisette. Rental cars are not recommended due to narrow roads and limited parking.
