Hamza and Kayleigh met in high school in 2009. Hamza had a class with one of Kayleigh's friends. Hamza saw Kayleigh from across the room in the cafeteria and wanted to meet her so he asked their mutual friend to introduce them. From that day on Hamza came to visit everyday and the rest is history. The two have been friends ever since and started seriously dating in October of 2014.

In June 2017 Hamza started a software engineering course for which he made a "Magic Mirror". This mirror is not only reflective but can display words across the glass. Normally the mirror would be able to show you the news, weather and time/date but Hamza had a better idea. Hamza used the mirror to propose to Kayleigh. In a last minute change of plans after months of planning ,Hamza decided on October 12th, 2017 that he was going to set up the mirror at his parent's house and do it there. Kayleigh had no idea. Hamza told Kayleigh that they were going to his parent's for dinner. When they arrived the mirror was already set up. Kayleigh had never seen the mirror before so she asked Hamza to show it to her, unknowing that she was walking into a proposal. The words on the mirror read "Kayleigh Elisabeth Hatch, I love you more than life itself. I can't see my life without you and I want to spend ever waking minute with you. Will you marry me? ". Once Kayleigh read the 2nd line she knew what was happening and turned around to find Hamza down on one knee and a ring in his hand. Before Hamza could say anything Kayleigh had already said "of course" and was leaning in for a hug. There is a video of the proposal that they would love to share if you ask.
