Puerto Vallarta International (PVR) Airport is a 15 minute drive to Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. The resort is located on the Pacific coast (west) of Mexico. Note: Cancun International Airport (CUN) is located on the Caribbean coast (east). More info: https://vallarta.grandvelas.com/location
Yes. The resort offers comfortable, clean and safe transportation to and from the airport, as well as private VIP service. The approximate driving time from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR) is 20 minutes with normal traffic. We'll provide more information and additional details will be shared closer to the date once flight information is collected from guests.
We’re asking guests to please wear solid/monochromatic (preferably with no different color print or design) clothing in gemstone colors (rich emerald green, sapphire blue, ruby red, amethyst purple, topaz yellow, or any jewel tone you love) OR solid tan/linen OR solid white (yes, white even for the ladies). We want you to be cool, comfortable, and feel your best. Think: cocktail-hour attire, resort-chic vibes—breezy dresses and linen. Relaxed but polished looks. Wear what will make you look and feel effortlessly stylish in the warm Mexican sun.
Pack comfortable, warm-weather attire (a few swimsuits & cover-ups, flip flops/sandals, sunhat, and comfy shoes plus light layers for cool-ish nights and a packable small umbrella) that allows you to fully enjoy the festivities. For the welcome reception, which may take place near the beach, we recommend an option other than heels for comfort. We've also addressed wedding day event attire in the FAQs. Don't worry if you forget something—your personal butler will be delighted to help you with any essentials you might need and there's a gift shop with apparel and other items on site.
Warm, dry and sunny! Expect mid-80s with ocean breezes. Nights can feel cool but comfortable and around mid-60s to low 70s degrees, so a light layer is helpful. Humidity is manageable compared to summer. Water temps average roughly 75 degrees.
The welcome party, ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors. The reception will take place indoors.
Absolutely. The resort has a back up plan in place to ensure all of our wedding events continue on as planned rain or shine.
Any dietary restrictions will be requested and collected from guests via mailed invitations.

"Tipping is not expected or required as gratuities are included in your rate. Guests who choose to tip do so to show extra appreciation for great service." You can tip in cash or charge the tip to your room when signing for services. Cash tips go directly to the individual, while charging it to your room is often split among staff and settled at checkout. You can use either USD or Mexican Pesos. Some guests and staff suggest that Pesos are preferable as they are a local currency. Amount: Tipping amounts are a personal choice."
