The Hamons

We had plans to meet "in the middle" for dinner. I was living in Atascadero and he was living in Lompoc so there was a bit of ground to cover in order to make this date happen. I suggested we meet "somewhere in the middle"... like San Luis Obispo. I didn't realize at the time that SLO was in fact not in the middle as it was 20 min away for me and about an hour away from Matt, but that did not stop him. We met at La Esquina where we enjoyed chips, salsa, margaritas and great conversation. Before we knew it, a couple of hours had passed and we didn't want the date to be over so Matt suggested we go axe throwing. There was some spirited competition on who could hit the bullseye... I'm pretty sure I won but Matt might say otherwise. Unfortunately it was closing time at the axe throwing place and I thought the date was over until we stepped outside and I started following the sounds of a live band all the way to Frog & Peach, thankfully Matt followed me there as well. We were just about the only two people there, sitting in that dingy pub, listening to a local band play covers of classic rock. It was indeed the perfect first date!
