FAQ

The Wedding Website of Jessica Hammer and Austin Kayser
If you have other questions on wedding day, please contact our coordinator, Julia, at 262-573-0735. Thank you!
Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

RSVPs are due by Friday, April 4, 2025. Simply visit the "RSVP" page and type the name(s) listed on your invitation envelope. If you need assistance, please contact us. If you are unable to attend, we appreciate you letting us know at the soonest opportunity. If we do not receive a response by April 4, you will be marked as “not attending."

Question

Can I bring my children or a date along?

Answer

Our wedding will be an adults-only event. We greatly appreciate child care arrangements made in advance. This pertains to infants, toddlers, and teens not indicated with your invitation. If you received a plus one, they will be listed on your invitation envelope and will appear with your name when you RSVP.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Garden cocktail attire is encouraged. This includes spring dresses, suits, and ties. Please refrain from shorts, jeans, hats, or shades of white. Don't forget your dancing shoes! We invite our "Something Blue" to wear muted shades of blue, like navy, powder blue, or even a soft blue floral pattern. Have fun with it!

Question

I'm part of the Something Blue crew. What do I need to know?

Answer

Our "Something Blue" is not a traditional wedding party. In other words, they're our guests of honor! Check out the "Our People" tab to meet these special individuals who have been part of our love story. Our "Something Blue" are invited to an optional private dinner the night before, as indicated on your invitation and when you RSVP (if you received a plus one, they are also invited to attend). Only immediate family members and those directly involved in our ceremony will be asked to attend rehearsal. Reserved ceremony seating will be indicated for our "Something Blue." Please let our ushers know and they will assist you to your seat. Gentlemen, don't forget your supplied tie. Ladies, dress to impress in a soft shade of blue! Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00pm. Please arrive between 3:30 and 3:45pm to park and find your seat. We ask that anyone arriving late please wait for the ceremony to conclude before entering the venue.

Question

Is parking available?

Answer

Our venue is located in the Walkers Point area of Milwaukee with a small on-site parking lot and ample street parking. There is also an hourly metered parking lot on the corner of E. National Ave. and S. Barclay St. Please allow time to park and find your seat prior to the 4:00pm ceremony.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be indoors, followed by an outdoor cocktail hour (weather permitting), and reception indoors. All will take place at The Ivy House.

Question

Can I take photos or videos during the ceremony?

Answer

No. All guests will be asked to silence and put away devices prior to the ceremony. We've hired a team of professionals to document those special moments and we’d be disappointed to have a phone blocking the memories our photographer and videographer are trying to capture. During cocktail hour and the reception, please take as many photos and videos as you’d like. Don't forget to send them to us!

Question

Where should I stay for the weekend?

Answer

A block of rooms have been made available at the Holiday Inn Express Milwaukee Downtown. More details can be found on the "Accommodations" page.

Question

Will there be a shuttle to and from the hotel?

Answer

No, we regret to share that a hotel shuttle will not be available. We recommend using Uber or Lyft, which are widely available around the Milwaukee area.

Question

What kind of food and drinks will be served?

Answer

Our amazing catering team will be serving a variety of hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, followed by a buffet dinner and ice cream. Beer, wine, and cocktails are on us, including non-alcoholic options for sober guests. Please consume responsibly.

Question

How can I inform you of a food allergy?

Answer

Our menu is mindful of our vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free guests. On your RSVP, please indicate any restrictions and our caterer will certainly accommodate.
