Yes! This is one of your typical love stories where two strangers saw each other and fell in love. 2020 was a crazy year for many of us and it shifted our plans. But God had something special for us in 2021. We met at church and served together in Youth Minsitry. We continued to talk and talk until one day Justin asked Savannah to go with him to Monterey. There is where something began to spark, we danced on the beach, ate some good seafood, danced on the pier and talked for hours late into the night. A few more dates and we began to fall in love with one another. Early in our dating season we took a little day-cation to Yosemite in March. We had the best of time both in the car because it was freeing or out playing in the snow. We took some cheese but cute couples photos too! But we had a very special moment where we looked into each other's eyes and saw a life together and we almost teared up. We both knew then that we loved one another. Since then every month has been incredible! We have both prayed for our spouse and after and long waited prayer it has been answered. We look forward to what is to come!
As we begin to plan our wedding, we both are continuously blown away in awe of the way that the Lord shows himself faithful. I can't help but write about giving complete and full regonition to God in all of this! A glimpse of what He has done; it all began when we both were at our wits with relationships, all hope was questionable. The Lord planted my steps and directed me to Hope Church, through one email and through one response from Justin, we both met on one special Sunday service. Since that Sunday, it was an effortless path of seeing each other, the Lord pairing us one way or the other. I began to lead in youth, seeing how we work even as friends. Then that was it, all it took was one youth group night to lead into a conversation of ministry and missions, and the following week, led to one spontaneous date of hanging out. The Lord effortlessly led. My eyes were opened in seeing His love poured out in continuous answered prayers. Through the adventures of our dating season, many months later, we both began to pray into a potential marriage. After hearing from the Lord, we began to take the next steps. Jesus led us in hard conversations, pressing situations, and overwhelming moments and brought us out together with more reverence for Him as well as being able to learn more about each other, love one another with full transparency. With all things in question, a house in Santa Cruz, a wedding ring, a venue, all things that seemed impossible to figure out our own, came God. We casted our worries upon Him and waited on Him. I have never felt more of a Fatherly love, watching on the sidelines, I saw Him answer it all. What a God we serve, that he cares about the smallest details in our lives. What a marriage that we get to go into, seeking Him in everything. I hope that this glimpse of a story so far will give you comfort and peace in knowing that the same God is in control of your life and is your anchor and provider in all your worries.
