HIS VERSION: It started with a kick in the shin. In February of 2017 I was in Chattanooga for the first ever match in Atlanta United history when I met Lauren. I innocently over-explained a retractable roof (context being why the Benz wasn't ready for soccer) and Lauren was having none of it. Having thought I had blown it, we went our separate ways but kept crossing paths. I thought I blew it again at a watch party but Lauren was interested and we started messaging back and forth on Instagram while realizing we had a lot in common. Despite this, we kept failing to meet up before a match (a certain someone likes her sleep more than tailgating). Finally, after many missed chances, we met up after a match and the rest, as they say, is history, HER VERSION: It started when this friend of a friend tried to tell me exactly what a retractable roof is, as though the name doesn't say it all. He annoyed me enough to kick him in the shin in that moment, but not enough that I denied his Facebook/Instagram friend request the next day. So I accepted. Over the next year and a half, we kept crossing paths. As the kids say, he "slid into my DMs" and had some pretty witty commentary! After a few months of internet messaging, one of my friends finally convinced me that, yes, he IS just that into you and I should try to meet up with him. Unfortunately, my weekend nap schedule kept getting in my way. But he always forgave me and eventually, we did meet up at a tailgate, and, as Will said, the rest is history,
