Parker and Megan’s story began when they met in the pre-COVID era of 2012. Parker was attending White Oak High School and Megan was attending Lejeune High School. They met through mutual friends and Megan was immediately captivated by Parker’s exquisite ability to sing the entirety of Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire”. They spent the following summer as beach bums, playing soccer, and Megan being personally chauffeured to Brrrberry’s Frozen Yogurt from the New River Air Station by Parker. They quickly fell in love and have been the inseparable high school sweethearts ever since. Following high school, Parker moved to Winston-Salem, NC and Megan moved to Fredericksburg, VA for college. They both became VIP customers of Amtrak in efforts to visit one another. During this time they also traveled extensively, backpacking across Europe as well as Iceland. They became SCUBA certified and staved off the bends in Curacao. Following graduation from college, Megan and Parker reunited in the beautiful Roanoke, VA while Parker completed medical school and Megan was a 1st grade teacher. Parker proposed while out sailing in their favorite beach city of Emerald Isle, NC after a short 10 years of dating. Since, they have moved to Charlotte, NC for Parker to complete his residency training. Megan and Parker added an additional family member to the household with a gun-shy yellow Labrador retriever named Indy. They are still the same inseparable high school sweethearts who are eagerly looking forward to celebrating their wedding in Charlotte, NC surrounded by family and friends.
