As every great love story goes... It all began one day with a swipe to the right. For those of you who don't know what that means, on certain dating apps, you either swipe left or swipe right to look at dating profiles. If you swipe left, it means you are not interested, but if you swipe right, it means you would like to know more about this person. We were both on the dating app, Bumble, and on one fateful day, we each swiped right, whether it was on purpose or by accident who knows, but so begins the story of how we met. After some texting and Nick telling Lauren the story of how he crashed a truck at the ripe age of 2, we decided to meet for a drink. They agreed to meet at this restaurant in downtown Burlington, however, Lauren didn't know that there was a separate bar in the basement of the restaurant, so when she walked into the restaurant and went to the bar, the average age for the men at the bar was about 72. To say Lauren was a bit ready to get the hell out of there as quickly as possible is the understatement of the century. Thankfully as she was asking the host if there was another bar in the restaurant, Nick texted and was telling her that he was downstairs. Phew! After asking the typical "first date" questions, the conversation just never stopped. After three drinks, way past the 'one drink max' rule on a first date (Lauren's rule), and non-stop laughs and chatting, we decided to leave and when we said goodbye, we both knew it wasn't going to be long before we saw each other again. The next day, Nick asked Lauren out to dinner for that Saturday night. And so goes the greatest story ever told about the wonder of the internet.
