In a lot of ways we fell for each other while biking along the Metolius River. It’s hard to describe the magic that this place is. Once there, the chatter of day-to-day life slows and a calm and presence takes its place making it easier to connect with oneself and those around. It’s beautiful and quiet and oh the gorgeous colors in the fall. There is a healthy population of Western Larch Trees in the area whose needles turn a magnificent yellow late fall. You will soon learn how much Hannah loves (and Sam is learning to love) Larches. For us, they’re a reminder to delight in what’s around you and that so much of what we love is fleeting. They’re a reminder to slow down and appreciate and celebrate all that we have. There was no other place we could imagine gathering the people we love most to celebrate this next chapter. The House on the Metolius is set on two-hundred acres of private land along the Metolius River, surrounded by millions of acres of national forest. It’s beautiful. And, yes, there are Larches. It will be ours for the weekend to laugh and cry and celebrate together. We can’t wait to share the magic of this place with you.
