We went back and forth for a while trying to decide what our last name would be, a common enough dilemma within the LGBT+ community. We didn’t love the idea of hyphenating (Hansen-Hall… what college building is that?), and while we considered sticking with Hansen, it still didn’t feel quite right. Then Elizabeth had the idea to combine our names. It felt like fate that they fit together so perfectly. We’re building our own story, and that means creating something that’s entirely ours, including our name. Halsen: Part Her. Part Me. Completely US.
