The bachelor pad was coming to an end in Storrs, CT where Scott was living with fellow colleagues and groomsmen John and Andy. All for good adulting, mature reasons of course. However, they were moving out right smack in the middle of the COVID outbreak in 2020. Scott and Kathleen knew of each other through mutual friends at UConn and sometimes even saw each other out on the town. When some found out that Scott was looking for a new place to live, Kathleen would make the joke that she had an open room in her apartment. Even though neither of them took that seriously, options were running out for Scott and Kathleen's apartment became a viable option. Scott reached out to inquire about the open room in Kathleen's apartment and believe it or not.... got no response. It took a few times of outreach to finally connect, but Scott, as he can be, was persistent. They eventually connected and the deal was done, Scott was moving in to be Kathleen's roommate. Scott & Kathleen's officiant who will be marrying them, JD Stearns, helped move Scott in to the apartment in July of 2020. After dropping off the first load of stuff, Kathleen had some candles lit, Grey's Anatomy on the TV, and cooking up something that smelt incredible. Both Scott and JD had a feeling this was going to be a pretty good situation, but neither of them expected it would lead to love. Immediately, Scott and Kathleen connected on levels in which they could not have imagined, as did Scott and Sora (Kathleen's cat). Everything clicked and they became extremely close friends doing just about everything together. Cooking new dishes, watching movies, playing games, going out for drinks, taking hikes, and exploring new things to do in the area (including taking Kathleen for her first sledding experience). However, it was April of 2021 when Scott and Kathleen decided to take the leap and went on some of their first "official dates" heading to places such as CT Valley Brewery, Newport RI, and Treva in West Hartford. It was then they both had the feeling that the spark they were feeling could potentially be an everlasting flame. From the beginning, love was found and fate had taken its course. From friendship, to roommates, to best friends, we celebrate the love that Scott and Kathleen have found, grew, and now will vow to hold and cherish forever!
