We couldn’t be more excited for our upcoming wedding - not only because we are getting married, but because we will get to join in fellowship with each of you as we make this commitment before God. As we get closer to marriage, we would covet your prayers for us. We approach the gift of marriage with reverence, desiring to honor the Lord as we take on this beautiful calling, and we thank you for encouraging and upholding us in it! Below are two brief descriptions of what we find to be true in love and marriage. We hope it is an encouragement to you as well as a guide in how to pray for us as we begin our new lives together. Thank you!
There is no greater love than that which God has shown us. His love is so great and powerful that there is no way to fully comprehend or describe it. He sent His son to die for us, to cleanse us from the sins that are more significant than we can know. Christ’s humility, sacrifice, and forgiveness are demonstrated perfectly for us to imitate, and we need your prayers as we pursue this same selflessness in serving one another. We ask for your prayers as we seek closeness to God together, staying immersed in His perfect Word and continually finding our utter satisfaction in Him throughout our marriage. Being nourished by our Father, we will have the ability to love and cherish one another in such a way as to magnify and glorify God in all we do.
A Christian marriage is a lifetime covenant-bond between a man and a woman which proclaims to the world Christ’s intimate, unwavering, faithful, and sacrificial covenant relationship with His bride, the Church. It is a God-given calling for men to lead and cherish, for women to submit and respect, and for both to serve and sacrifice with joy. Marriage is God's wonderful and beautiful design, with the purpose of glorifying Himself and blessing us with safety, stability, comfort, sanctification, companionship, and bringing up children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. We are grateful and blessed to take on this calling for the glory of God, and we are thankful for each of you and for all your prayers.
