How They Met

#sothefishingbegan

David and Sophia met while "fishing". It was the cold cold of winter, during a time when neither of them were seriously thinking they would catch the BIG ONE. But yet they persisted, until the day of the ULTIMATE CATCH. But in reality these two met while exploring finds via an online dating service. Now, Sophia being who she is was determined to meet David in person to see if the guy behind the text messages and brief phone calls was the same in real life. The two met at Bonefish Grille one evening for casual conversation. The following week they scheduled a "real" date and the rest is practically history.

#BigfishLittleFishOneFishTwoFish

So, I was at a moment in my life where I had literally just said to God that I was okay. I was okay with it being me and my boo thang Jesus to the end and beyond. But, God clearly had a different plan for me. A few weeks later I felt a nudge or a desire to begin to date. Nevertheless, not fully understanding why and not really pressed about it, I created the cheapest (well freest lol) profile account online. In just a few weeks of being online, a certain person caught my attention. I've always been one for good conversation and David had that. After some days of messaging one another, we finally exchanged numbers. I had to meet him, Mainly because I wanted to be sure he was actually the person messaging me and secondly, I really wanted to meet him. One evening after my hot yoga class, I went to Bonefish Grill for dinner and invited David to join me. He agreed to meet me. As soon as he walked in, I was like Okaay, hello or whatever - With an eggplant colored shirt, black suspenders, black pants and a commanding walk, he came over to meet me at the bar. His conversation was the same in person as it had been in our messages! Yay! After our lunch date that followed, we kept in touch but cordially. We reconnected again a couple weeks after when he texted me that it was his birthday and that he was in a fashion show the upcoming weekend. I went to the fashion show and then took him out to dinner after for his birthday. That's when the magic happened --- like Disneyworld G-rated saintly magic....we trespassed into a park after dinner to sit and talk. I felt like I did not want the night to end. When I realized I could be Sophia in my fullness, I became really excited about what was to come. After a few weeks of going out on dates and an 8- to 10-hour car talk (literally), one Sunday we went to an evening service then to Gold's Gym, then to get salads from Sheetz and during this evening's car talk at 12:38am, April 3, 2017, we deleted our profiles and made it official.

#FindingTheRightFish

It all started one day at work where it wasn't much to do but a whole lot of swiping left. Then finally I saw this beautiful young lady and immediately had to get to know more about her. After sharing correspondence online over the next few days, we exchanged numbers, and the following day I was coerced into meeting for dinner at BoneFish Grill. While very modest at first, little did i know that she would have me breaking the law, trespassing, and staying out until the wee hours of the night by the end of the month! Within a month of our first contact with each other, we would also officially become a couple. It was a Sunday evening, after attending a church service together and returning to my house where we had one of our routine driveway conversations that would creep over into the night, sometimes into the next day, Sitting in the car, parked in front of the house where we would share our most personal life goals and secrets, we decided that although there may be plenty of fish in the sea, we were happy with the ones which we had caught, and decided to retire our poles. Now going on two years later, it has been one of the best decisions we have made together!!!
