Flight
FLYING AND DRIVING FROM EL PASO: To those traveling from outside West Texas, keep in mind that Terlingua is in a remote location along the U.S./ Mexico border. Driving from the El Paso airport will take around 4 1/2 hours with few gas stations in between. There will be gas stations in Van Horn, Alpine and Marfa. Take 10 south to Van Horn, 90 south to Alpine and then 118 south to Terlingua. We recommend coordinating with others to find similar flight times in order to share rental cars or arrange pickup from those driving through El Paso from other locations. If traveling from California, look at Southwest for the best value airfare.
Train
Feeling really adventurous? There is a train between Jack London Square in Oakland, CA and Alpine, TX. Keep in mind that arrival times will vary, sometimes within a few hours.
