We are getting married!

In the fall semester of 2017 Caleb enrolled in Minnesota State Mankato staying in the McElroy dormitory E2. He then met his Resident Assistant (RA) Neil who would soon became a close friend of Caleb. On the same floor on the other side was the sister floor F2-with RA Halleluyaa. As the McElroy dorm community grew- so did the friendships in these halls. And after a couple months of getting to know each other, Caleb and RA Halleluyaa continued to participate in dorm activities such as dodgeball, WOWS and going out to eat with all of the other RAs. Slowly, it became more than a friendship; with movie dates, haunted houses and plenty of teasing from close friends to make moves😂. By the time October rolled around, Caleb finally got the courage and decided to make it official and asked Halleluyaa to be his girlfriend. October 24th to be exact-and she laughingly said yes. After that it was history-with camping, trips with friends and bonding over food and even starting shows and watching them all the way through together - with the first one being Malcom In The Middle. Around October of 2021, Caleb started getting plans and ideas ready to propose to Halleluyaa. And eventually at Quarry Hill park in Rochester, December 4th 2021 Caleb got down on one knee and asked Halleluyaa to marry him- the easiest yes she ever had to give! Afterwards they went out with Caleb’s family for a dinner cooked on a rock(Caleb’s favorite😂). Fast forward to now; we live together, have had fun planning our wedding these last two years and even decided to adopt our beautiful dog Buna (for those that don't know this means coffee in Amharic and was Caleb's first word he memorized in Halleluyaa's language)! We can’t wait to start our new adventure soon and are excited to celebrate our special day with y’all! With much appreciation, The future Mr. and Mrs. Hammer
