Early one Saturday morning, there were two HS Juniors on their way to an ACT diagnostic. Morgan, as anxious as ever, got to the test first, with pencils laid out and ready to go. As time passed kids filed in taking their seats at the communal table. However as the test began one chair remained empty... Ten minutes into the test a kid bursts into the room and sits down in the empty seat across from Morgan. He apologized to each of the kids at the table before beginning his test. Jake she soon found out would proceed to be a complete menace throughout the rest of the exam as this was not his first rodeo and he was being forced to go every weekend by his mom. Getting up to unplug the water cooler, sharpening his pencils, and during the breaks telling the kid next to him that the science portion heavily required a calculator when in fact a calculator wasn't even ALLOWED. He was unlike anyone Morgan had ever seen, Jake was absolute chaos! When it came to the 10 minute break, he created small talk with everyone. Morgan wanted nothing to do with him at 8:00 am. However before long Jake proceeded to ask her if they had taken a test together last month. He told her that he could have sworn they met and that he already had her on snapchat! Morgan completely caught off guard by this presence all together was sure that they had indeed never met, as she would have never forgotten this guy. After the test Morgan left the exam knowing she got nothing accomplished and that the morning was an incredible waste of time. Jake the catalyst for the worst test of her life ran out after her and asked for nothing else but her snapchat! Morgan thought nothing of it and gave it to him. Little did she know he would snapchat her everyday until she went out with him and that the whole convo about the last test was a complete lie! Smooth right? Well that morning ended up not being a complete waste, she got a way better result than she ever would have anticipated. The best man she has ever met.
The morning after Jake’s graduation, Jake awoke in a panic! He lost his voice! Jake spent the whole morning gargling hot water, drinking spoonfuls of honey, and frantically looking through the window up at the sky asking if it was going to rain. He was worried, because we had a "grad" party that day at Jake’s grandparents house with both of our close families. Morgan took Jake by the shoulders and told him to calm down, if it rained it rained, if he lost his voice then so what it’s not like he would have to give a speech today. They left for the party and Jake asked if on the way they could make a stop at their favorite lookout point. Morgan thinking to herself okay that’s unusual, but up until the date Jake had made her feel crazy for thinking he would propose anytime soon. So she was really trying not to get her hopes up, even though Jake was viscerally shaking during the entire drive. Once there they walked over to a bench that was overlooking all of Orange County, Jake began reflecting on their time together and how close they had both gotten. When this conversation came to a close, they began talking about random things like the cacti being in bloom and how Al worked nearby. Morgan thought this is my chance I’ll get up to point to the building he works at and turn around and he will be on one knee. She did this, turned around, and he was checking his phone. Morgan, defeated, walked back to the bench and sat back down. It wasn’t happening, not today. She turned to Jake and said she was cold and they got up to start walking back to the car. He then began to lead her onto the grass, got down on one knee, and popped THE question. Morgan in tears of course said, "YES"! They then drove to the "grad" party and as Jake began to open the door he said, “By The Way They All Know”. Everyone shouted surprise! Their families had actually thrown an engagement dinner for everyone! Everyone was crying happy tears and hugging and it was truly one of the best days of their lives! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in SD!
