Halle and Ian met in 2018 while serving in the Peace Corps in Ghana. While in Ghana their respective sites were a full day apart. They both regularly took a trotro from their sites and then a bus all the way to either the North or South to visit each other. After Halle finished her service in 2019, she moved back to the US and Ian stayed to complete another year in the Peace Corps. They were now dating with an entire ocean between them. In 2020 Ian finally made his way to Pittsburgh during the middle of the Covid pandemic. Turning what was once an exclusively long-distance relationship, into a one room apartment relationship. In 2020 they adopted their first child, their cat Wednesday. Who now controls all aspects of their lives. In 2022 they bought a fixer upper house together in Pittsburgh's North Side and began the pain staking task of making it livable. In 2023 they did two very important things, they adopted a second cat named Grimoire and got engaged at the Shed Aquarium in Chicago in front of some very unimpressed otters. Two years later they're finally getting married! They can't wait to start this new chapter of their lives together.
