Our story. I first saw Halle in 6th grade at a tournament. I didn’t talk to her at all but I knew in my mind from the first moment I saw her, there was something special about her. Fast forward a year and we became friends on social media.We then started talking and our friendship started. Though it was harder to get her to talk to me in person than it was over the phone, I enjoyed every second of it. So from grade 7 up I always kept my eye on her at all the sporting events. Since we were in middle school I always loved talking to her. She was always there to talk to. She never complained and we always joked around. I didn’t know how else to get her to like me, even though she already did, so I’d try to act funny but always ended up embarrassing myself. So fast forward to high school and we were still really good friends and loved talking to each other. Around my freshman year I finally got her to talk to me in person and I can still remember those few words I said “hey where is your brother” we were missing Owen at the mat I was running. I know surprising. She responded with “he’s coming” and those 2 words she said to me made me happier than she could ever know. Fast forward again to junior year and our friendship was still strong and we talked in person more. Anyways, this year in particular was one of my hardest but best years of my life. Our last football game of the season I broke my leg and I was told that I wouldn’t be able to wrestle that year. So I was pretty bummed. But someone told me “you never know why God does things the way he does, maybe you will meet your future wife”. Towards the middle of the season we were in Prineville for a dual and I saw Halle. It had been a while since I had seen her in person so I tried to play it cool and I acted like I didn’t see her when she said hi to me as I walked by. So immediately she texted me and said “nice of you to say hi” and I totally played dumb. After we were going to our hotel for the night because it was a 2 day tournament and I told her where we were staying. Just how God wrote it up, she was also staying in that same hotel because she had a flight that left for a softball tournament. I couldn’t have been more nervous. Since my leg was broken and I couldn’t wrestle I was able to stay out late that night. I nervously asked her if she wanted to walk around the hotel and talk with me and she said yes. For about 4 hours we walked around and around that hotel. And you may be thinking, “wasn’t your leg broken?” Yes, I was just too scared to screw up the moment and I pushed through the pain just to keep talking to this girl I had a crush on since middle school. Turns out she was just as amazing on the inside as she was the out. We talked about so many different things and told stories and laughed and joked around all night. Eventually I got tired of walking and I asked if she wanted to go into the hot tub and she said yes. We talked for a while in there and just as I thought the night couldn’t get any better. We kissed. It was absolutely amazing for about 2 seconds until the desk lady of the hotel came in and told us the pool was closed and kicked us out. We laughed about that and by now I was sure that this girl was the one. She had a perfect smile, the prettiest blue eyes, perfect hair and just everything about her was perfect. That night I was so happy that my leg broke in half and that I was able to do that and get to know Halle way better. So 2 weeks after all this took place she was in Burns for her siblings wrestling tournament and later that night, on February 4 2022 I asked her to be my girlfriend. Our relationship has become so strong. We have made many memories together and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her. We have come so close together and getting to know each other's families and friends has been some of the best moments. That is our story on how we met and I look forward to many more days ahead with her by my side.
