Tons of options! Our favorites are: - Makapuu Lighthouse Trail: Moderately difficult, paved trail to the scenic Makapuu lighthouse. - Koko Crater Railway Trail: Strenuous, stair climbing trail that is great if you want a workout with a rewarding view. - Aiea Loop Trail: Moderate 4-mile trail on a mountain ridge. May be muddy depending on weater conditions.
There is no shortage of beaches on Oahu, and there's almost no wrong options. A few of our recommendations are: - Waikiki & Kaimana beaches- the most convenient options for those staying in Waikiki - Kailua (east side), Waimea and Haleiwa (north side). Note that parking availability varies depending on location and time, but back-up options are plentiful if you need to pivot. Also, make sure to secure valuables & lock your car.
- Pearl Harbor Memorial & Museum: Tickets need to be booked 8 weeks in advance, with extra tickets opening up 1 day in advance. Learn more at: https://www.recreation.gov/ticket/facility/233338 and https://www.nps.gov/perl/planyourvisit/basicinfo.htm - Iolani Palace: The residence for Hawaiian royalty - Polynesian Cultural Center
So many great options available! - Waiola Shave Ice - Kelli's all-time favorite! (Honolulu) - Island Vintage Shave Ice (Waikiki) - Kokonuts (great reward after Kokohead or Makapuu) but there are many more great options can be found throughout the island. Highly recommend adding a scoop of ice cream, a snow cap (condensed milk), and/or mochi to your shave ice!
Beautiful town on the north shore of Oahu with lots to do! Nearby to many beaches, and Matsumoto Shave Ice and Giovanni's shrimp truck are highly recommended if you visit!
