Hannah and Grayson met at Hannah's high school through the Musical Theatre Program. The school was performing Mamma Mia where Grayson had a lead role. The cast performed a snippet of the show for other theater programs around the county. It was at this event that Hannah noticed Grayson, and soon after she fell for him. Hannah and Grayson talked frequently after that performance and quickly became close friends. Soon after that, the world shut down due to COVID, so the cast decided to have one last get-together before lockdown. At the party, the group decided to play a game of manhunt, where Grayson and Hannah were on the same team. During the game, they hid behind a bush, and Hannah decided to make a move. She rested her head on Grayson's shoulders, and they star gazed while everyone else continued with the game. A few days after that, Grayson asked Hannah on a date. After that date, Grayson officially asked Hannah out on March 18th, 2020, and they've been in love ever since.

Grayson and Hannah planned to go on a trip to the beach for their 3-year anniversary of dating over spring break. Hannah had guessed that Grayson would be proposing two weeks later, so nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Little did she know, Grayson frantically changed his plans three hours before he proposed. The two drove down to New Jersey after Hannah had finished work, and everything seemed totally normal to Hannah. The only thing that seemed strange was how insistent Grayson was that the two go to the beach before visiting with his grandparents. The two arrived at the beach, and as they walked down the ramp on the sand, Hannah said to Grayson jokingly, "Wouldn't this be the most perfect place to propose?" Little did she know. Grayson asked Hannah if he could take some pictures of her by the ocean since the sun was setting and everything looked so beautiful around them. Grayson directed her on how to pose and where to look, and he told Hannah to look toward the ocean. Turning around shortly after, she felt a tap on her back, and there Grayson was on his knee proposing.
