Zachary and Haley grew up just miles apart, but their paths never crossed until one fateful day at Bass Pro Shops in Garland, Texas- the most romantic place on earth! Haley went in for an interview and Zachary saw her that day and commented to a coworker on how he thought she was pretty. Lucky for him she got the job and the two both started finding ways to spend more time together. Haley had a mutual friend invite Zachary to hang out after work with a group of friends. After hanging out as friends a few times the two quickly realized they wanted to be more than friends and started dating in the spring of 2018. Over the next few years Zachary introduced Haley to many new things like the Dallas Stars and traveling the world. The two fell in love and truly became best friends. Jobs have changed and the two no longer work together but will always be thankful for the time they got to spend working with each other. Zachary and Haley decided to move in together a few years later along with Zachary’s cat Dexter (where Haley was the third wheel most of the time). Then in 2024 the couple adopted a puppy named Frankie who has kept them on their toes ever since. Their engagement has been a long time coming and the two cannot wait to get married in 2026. They look forward to spending the rest of their lives together and going on many more adventures.
Haley thought she was planning a trip for Zachary's 30th Birthday, however everyone else knew he had other plans. The story starts in Saint Maarten July 2024. The couple arrived on the island ready for their vacation only to be met with a tropical storm that had blown through. This caused a few issues in the timeline and made Zachary pivot his plans...Mostly because Haley had no clue and started changing their itinerary. The two enjoyed their trip exploring, snorkeling and island hopping. It was the second to last day of their trip when the two took a day trip to the island of Anguilla. Zachary rented a car and drove the pair around looking for the best beach to go to because he knew this was the day he was going to pop the question. To Haley's dismay he did find the perfect beach... it just happened to be a secluded cove that you had to scale a cliff with a rope to get down to (If you think she is exaggerating she will show you picture proof, this cliff was scary)! Zachary climbed down first to make sure the path was safe and spent the next 30 minutes trying to coax Haley down. Eventually the pair decided maybe this was not going to work so Zachary went to take a picture of the beach while Haley stood atop the cliff waiting. However, Haley could tell Zachary wanted to stay so she decided that she would be brave and climb down on her own. To his surprise he looked back at the cliff to see Haley climbing down and came back over & helped her make it down to the beach safely. When they were both finally on the beach Zachary realized that Haley had left their bag on the top, and he needed to go back up and get it. As he is doing this Haley is so happy that she has made it down she starts to go into the water and enjoy the beach. Meanwhile Zachary had now climbed the cliff at least 3 times between all these shenanigans. When he gets back down to the shore he cannot believe after all this work Haley is already going out into the ocean and he is worried he may not have time for his plan. He dropped to a knee with a ring in his hand and called out Haley's name. Haley turned and did not register what was happening for a few seconds, until she heard him say "You are the love of my life and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me”? Of course, she said yes and they spent the rest of the afternoon on the secluded beach just the two of them soaking in every moment before they went back home and started calling all of their family and friends to tell them their exciting news! It was truly the best proposal. Their proposal is a good reflection of the two- Zachary keeps Haley adventurous and she knows that he will always be there to help her and keep her safe along the way.
