Do you believe in the type of love you find in those sappy hallmark channel movies? Neither did we. Until we met each other on the night of Hunter and Andrea’s wedding. Scout was Hunter’s “best man” and Haley was Andrea’s “maid of honor.” We had never met each other before. Well, interestingly enough, this was almost not the first time that we met… We were actually supposed to meet up for the first time years prior to this wedding, all the way back in 2022. We were supposed to meet each other for the first time at Country Broom in Wisconsin. However, due to God’s timing aka an untimely severe fever that Haley had, she was unable to make it and the meet up was destined for a later date in the future. We even tried to Snapchat for a while but God had to make sure we matured a bit more before he was going to set things in motion so fast forward back to 2024 and we are talking for the first time at the wedding. From that point on, momentum started to build and eventually Scout asked Haley to be his girlfriend months later in August. They both decided to commit to an incredible long distance relationship… 1,014 miles apart. It didn’t hinder us whatsoever. With Jesus at the center of our relationship, we received the blessings and means to see each other quite often for being 1,000 miles apart. In fact, there weren’t many times we ever went more than 2 weekends apart. Some might say that is excessive. We say it was necessary. The long distance taught us patience, communication, and trust. It truly has been a beautiful learning experience and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We cannot wait to be wed and spend the rest of our lives with each other, and now we won’t have to catch a 3 am Frontier flight to see each other. Now it will just be a trip across the living room. All glory to Jesus who brought us together through exceptional circumstances and gave us an even more exceptional Godly relationship which we hope will shine a light to others from here on.
